Is this “compassionate release?”

So, it is deemed fair and equitable to deny “compassionate release” from prison to a man who has lupus, liver failure and has served 15 of 16 years of his sentence, right? No. Read more. For those that don’t know, the Congress enacted a provision for compassionate release from federal prisons when inmates are frail, elderly or near death. The goal was to show some compassion for individuals who posed no risk to society, to reduce the prison population and to reduce costs of caring for these individuals.
